Amy Says…
Hello {{first_name}} ,
It’s been a busy week.

I confess that the political news of the last weekend had me pretty riled up. I only mention it because if you felt the same, you are not alone.

One of the ways I channeled my emotions at the start of the week was making a very off-the-cuff emotional reel. I thought I might need to immediately delete it, but what actually happened is that people reached out and connected, and we supported each other.

It got me thinking that modern community looks different than it did when I was a kid. A lot of my community is connected online. Social media and online connections are frequently vilified for all the bad things, but sometimes they can also be a place where we find support and camaraderie. As an added bonus, each day I took the time to organize my thoughts and emotions, I felt better. Not everybody needs to make public videos as a way of organizing their thoughts, but it actually worked out pretty well for me this week.

If you find yourself feeling isolated, you are not alone. If I can support you in any way, let me know.

This week I'm featuring three compelling conversations highlighting transformation, resilience, and the pursuit of unconventional paths:

Colette Fehr shares her insights as a therapist and author, diving into marriage, divorce, and the impact of childhood on adult relationships. Lindsey Tague invites us on her journey of embracing nomadic living and building a life by design, with practical advice for anyone tempted to travel the world while working remotely. Finally, Holly Bot opens up about her experience serving a prison sentence, the road to humility and healing, and the power of faith and self-reflection after hardship.

Each episode is a testament to the imperfect journeys that shape us as adults—listen in for honesty, actionable lessons, and inspiration for embracing change.

Lindsey Tague

Lindsey Tague was sitting in her Florida apartment during the summer of 2020, watching the world slow to a standstill during the pandemic. Like many of us during that surreal time, she was forced to reckon with a simple truth: time stops for no one. She had spent two years building a freelance marketing business that could support her from anywhere, yet she was still tethered to a lease, a storage unit full of furniture, and the familiar safety of staying put. That September, as her birthday approached and she reflected on whether she was truly living in alignment with what she wanted, Tague made a decision that would reshape her life. She would move out of her apartment, sell everything she owned, and become a digital nomad.

This conversation may be helpful for anyone who has felt the pull toward a more mobile life but doesn't know how to bridge the gap between dream and reality. I

When Holly Bot stood in that Minneapolis courtroom at 36 years old, waiting to hear her fate, she never imagined the judge would hand down a 12-year prison sentence. Her blood pressure dropped. Her vision went dark. She almost passed out. The mother of five had pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with one of her teenage son's high school friends, and in that moment, the weight of her choices became undeniably real.

Thank you Ambika Devi for these kind words about the show. We think you’re pretty great too!

Fascinating episode. Shifting from such a structured high stakes career path to the nomadic RV lifestyle really intrigued me in this conversation. Shedding and letting go are always great reminders.

Colette Jane Fehr

Colette Fehr stood as a bridesmaid in the same church where she had married seven years earlier. The reception would be held at the same venue too. It was two months after her divorce became final, and she was 31 years old with a one-year-old and a three-year-old at home. When her friend offered her an out from the wedding party, Colette declined. This would be one of ten weddings she attended that year, a brutal collision of endings and beginnings that would ultimately shape her life's work.
