Amy Says…
Here ye … here ye… last week’s photo was correctly identified as Mount Hood by Toni. Thank you so much for writing me back with your responses.
2025 is wrapping up quickly. There are just a couple more weeks to go. I’m doing my own evaluations of this year and planning for next year. I’ll share more about what I’m thinking and plotting soon. Today I’ll share that according to my Spotify wrapped I’m a 23-year old listener…I’m 52 years young so that feels fun to me. YouTube and my year end report … is pretty sure that I’m a vanlife influencer … which is fair because I did take a van-based trip this past summer and I’m semi-obsessed with vanlife videos.
If you’re curious about trends YouTube released it’s top of the top stuff here.

It’s me on the beach … playing in sand. Happy December from me in the almost tropics where it is my civic responsibility to post beach photos all winter long.

Diet Culture | Raising Kids Who Trust Their Bodies

Lindsey Kaszuba
The message arrives relentlessly from every direction: control your body, track your calories, follow the rules, stay thin. For most women, this conditioning begins in adolescence and continues through adulthood, creating an exhausting cycle of restriction and self-judgment that overshadows the very wellness it claims to promote. But what happens when you stop trying to control your body and start listening to it instead?
Lindsey Kaszuba spent her teenage years and twenties locked in that familiar battle. Growing up in Florida with a natural curiosity about health and wellness, she loved running as stress relief and appreciated her family's focus on nutritious home-cooked meals. But that healthy foundation gradually twisted into something darker. "That curiosity and that yearning for knowledge sort of turned into an obsession with staying thin, staying a certain number on the scale, being fit, very scale obsessed," Kaszuba said.

Mind | Surviving a Panic Attack on the NYC Subway
The venti chai latte tumbled into her bag as Stephanie Sanz lost consciousness on a packed rush-hour subway train. Neon colors flickered in her peripheral vision, her ears rang, and then everything faded to black. When she came to, she was on a platform two stops away, lifted there by strangers who recognized something was wrong. For most people, passing out on public transportation would be nothing more than an embarrassing medical emergency to quickly forget. For Sanz, it became the defining moment that would shape her entire professional identity as a therapist specializing in anxiety, stress, and neuroscience.

🥰 Community Spotlight
Thank you Jennifer Celeste Briggs aka LiquidRobot for these kind words about the show. Truly reading this review made me blush. I think you’re pretty great too!
I loved being a guest on the Art of Imperfect Adulting. Amy Stone asks wonderful questions and gives ample time for guests to answer. It felt like having coffee with a good friend who is a thoughtful, kind and inquisitive listener. I have also enjoyed listening to many episodes of the show because all of the guests are interesting and all of the conversations feel genuine and heart-felt. I highly recommend this podcast. It’s one of my go-to podcasts when I want to feel connected to others and feel inspired in my life.

Career | Would You Quit Your Dream Job for True Freedom?

Sarah Waldbuesser
When Sarah Waldbuesser stood in her windowless office writing reports that perhaps one person would read, she confronted a question that unsettles many high achievers: Why aren't I happy? She had the career credentials that supposedly guaranteed fulfillment—a law degree, a master's in public health, and a position working in global health that combined her passions for travel and making a difference in the world. She lived in an exciting city, had great friends, and got paid to travel internationally. By every external measure, she had arrived at her destination.
She felt like something fundamental was missing.
It turns out for Sarah, the degrees, the impressive job titles, and even work that aligns with your stated values don't automatically produce satisfaction if the daily reality doesn't match your deeper needs for autonomy, flexibility, and genuine engagement.
